Hello all,
I'm hoping perhaps some of the locals (hey Marty, that'd be you! ) or anyone else who may have info could help me locate a place to stay for one night in February on STT. We are flying in on a Saturday mid day and are in need of a place for the night prior to departing the following day to Jost. Any suggestions? I know there has to be some places available that aren't coming up on the web (expedia, travelocity, etc.). We'd like to stay relatively close either Red Hook or Charlotte Amalie area as we aren't renting a car for the short time we'd be there but want to be able to venture out for dinner etc and access the ferry to Jost the next day. Price wise we'd like to keep it fairly inexpensive $200.00 or less as we are only there for a very short time. Thank you all in advance for your help. Jill

The Best Western near the airport would work, as would the Holiday Inn downtown (both phone numbers can be found at www.viphonebook.com) Red Hook is where your ferry will leave from, but I can't think of anything near Red Hook, but that doesn't mean there isn't something. You could also check out the Island Trader on-line, as there are always some good deals for nightly and weekly rentals in there for businessmen and such...but the Holiday Inn is probably gonna be your best bet...or the Galleon House ( a small B&B downtown), which is where I stayed when I first came here. I just picked them out of a huge list cuz they were cheap, and they turned out to be very convenient, nice people, clean place (rather tiny, though), great location, etc. Bunker Hill Hotel is another option...Oh, I'll bet Pirate's Cove would do the trick, too! That's much closer to Red Hook, too. Ya know what? There are a buncha places that'd work! Haha! Try Pirate's Cove first., though..then try Secret Harbor (ask for the cheap rooms not on the beach), then try the: Galleon House, Bunker Hill, Holiday Inn, Best Western (listed in order of distance from Red Hook). Lemme know how it goes and if I can be of anymore help...

We've stayed with Ronnie at the Crystal Palace and really like it. He has a website.
