Recommendations needed for one night hotel stay near the Red Hook ferry. We plan to arrive on 5/2 and next morning take the ferry to Jost Van Dyke. We stay on Jost for 4 nights and then take ferry to St. John for 2 weeks. Any suggestions for a good dinner in that area also appreciated. We could also just take recommendations mentioned under "must eats". Thanks for your help.
You can try Pavillion and Pools, Pt. Pleasant Resort, Sapphire Beach Resort, Secret Harbor or Sugar Bay Resort which are all nearby (within 5 min. ) to Red Hook. There is another place nearby to Secret Harbor which was the old Sea Horse Cottages that have been completely revamped but cannot remember the new name. Maybe someone else can. I think they have short term rentals.
Hard to find a private vacation rental in that location that may be willing to rent for just 1 night. Also Elysian Resort is next door to Cowpet Bay and the Ritz Carlton Hotel are also nearby.
There are lots of places for dinner right in the Red Hook area near the Ferry Dock and the hotels
all have their own restaurants so lots of options. Good Luck.
Most of the recommendations for dinners in the other post are in the Frenchtown area and not close to
Red Hook.
Thanks for the info
The place Alana33 is thinking of is called Secret Harbour Beach Resort - You can try any of the places she mentioned - good suggestions.
As far as dinner, there are tons of options in that area. For sushi, I recommend Revelry in American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook... XO Bistro across the street is good. Sunset Grille at Secret Harbour is good. If you just want pizza and a beer, stop at Island Time Pub (Red Hook). There's also a new place in Red Hook called Tap and Still that has good cheap burgers.
Enjoy your trip!
No, I wasn't thinking of Secret Harbor Beach Resort but the old Sea Horse Cottages which have been renovated and have a new name. It's walking distance to SHBR.
As Alana mentioned, finding somewhere to take a single night reservation on the East end is a little tricky but you might want to also take a look at Rhoda's Guest House/Hostel in Tillett Gardens:

PS: Paradise Cove is the old Sea Horse:
Thanks STT resident. I could not think of the name! CRS stikes again!
Thanks STT resident. I just booked a room at Rhoda's Guest House. Abigail there was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to our one night stay there.
