I am getting so overwhelmed. I need a hotel in St Thomas that i can walk out of my room onto the beach. I want the hotel to have a swim up bar in the pool, a resturant, layout areas on the beach and a gym. Any ideas. It doesn't have to be the nicest hotel because i can't spend 300 plus a night for a room but I do want to be pampered and stay in a nice place. Thanks for any help!!

The $150/night was an example. I know what YOU said. It wasn't about YOU! It isn't always about YOU!

don't think less of yourself; just think of yourself less

I've been lurking on these boards a while now and only post seldomly. I find Anita's posts thoughtful, informative and never condescending. She seems genuinely nice...:-)

Seems that nobody escapes her wrath. Poster "Lolly"responded to her earlier on in this thread offering suggestions in all good faith but now because "Lolly" is confused, he/she is now accused of being, "someone who isn't even been in the conversation and only adding insults so agsin spreading negatively."

Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Spike, Anita is always a breath of fresh air. She came here, she went, she came back. At the risk of repeating something I posted a LONG time ago, one story I always recall was when a hurricane was allegedly close to us. At that time Anita was anchoring a radio call-in news program. The station was tracking the news as usual and callers were calling in and giving updates about what would be open or closed. I called in to advise that even if a curfew were in effect I would be open during the day if necessary (as opposed to my normal evening hours).

A subsequent caller belligerently asked something to the effect of, "How she know she be open?" Anita responded very succinctly, saying, "She knows her business." I honestly don't remember what silly hurricane that was but it was a minor affair and nothing to write home about.

tallen03, you can beat a dead horse 'til the cows come home. I honestly don't know what is your problem where responses to your posts are concerned but you've pretty much disrespected everyone who's responded in all good faith to you, accusing them of collusion and so much more. Maybe you should read back and put on your hearing ears and stop with all the reactionary stance. No doubt you're a wonderful community contributor but many of us here are also community contributors and have also gone through major thicks and thins via major hurricanes, Hugo in 1989 and Marilyn in 1995. We all have crosses to bear and yours aren't special.

We longtime residents and frequent visitors take time to respond to questions such as yours. Too bad you can't see woods for trees.

STT Resident, you say that lolly offered suggestions. What suggestions would thoughs be. It was mearly an opinion and negative commenting. The crosses that everyone bears... REALLY ... now whos comparing. That would be you. I never compared or even brought up crosses or the lives of people. I simply was stating what kind of person I am and what I do to help. I would assume that everyone on here would do the same. I NEVER said if anyone even including you were a helpful person or not. You are simply on a rant of your own and as I am sure need to reread each post to understand. Hey sometimes it takes people longer to understand and thats ok but adding things into what I was talking about is again only adding negative posting because this is not the first time you have taken a subject off the path it was meant for. I guess If thats what makes you feel better at night then have a hey day. God bless to you and have a compassionate full hearted weekend

Hi, The Mariott at Frenchmans Reef has a swim up bar , but the beach is a bit of a walk, there are restaurants and I'm sure you could arrange for a massage from them.
Bolongo has a swim up bar, rooms beach front, 2 restaurants, one casual and one fine dining, also one of my favorite restaurants is Mims, a short stroll down the beach. Maybe you should look at coming down off season, lots of discounts then...Happy hunting"

Well, what do YOU know. Once again, truth prevails. Thank you STTR for your honest and truthful reply. (tu)

And since when did "mearly" become a word? I'll bet "mearly" is not in some silly phone dictionary either. :@)

Tallen obviously has problems (besides not being able to spell). She has attacked pretty much everyone. Let's just end this nonsense, ignore her.

You are all so ridiculous. Well not all of you, those who are know whom I'm speaking to. And no I am not going to scroll thur my phone to make sure each word is spelled correctly and waste more time with small brained people like yourselves Again only to those that knows whom I'm talking about.
Once again as its been stated before if you don't like/agree with the discussion than stay out of it. This was my discussion not yours! Oh was that to blunt for you!

May life treat you how you treat others. :@)

Tallen has been a busy girl; knows how to copy & paste. I suggest everyone who got the abusive pm report her and refer the administrator to this thread.

I'm deeply offended and slighted not to have received the PM in question. Seems I'm chopped liver for true! This insult may take me a while to deal with and entail some serious therapy sessions. Aargh!

Miss Tallen, all the best. If you decide to spend your long-awaited honeymoon here along with the other two couples accompanying you, I sincerely hope that the awful attitude you've demonstrated on this forum thus far has been shared with them?

LOL, wow, thanks! :$)

some people like it, some people not so much.
actually i have found that my approach can infuriate people who are upset in the moment and just want to vent. today a friend told me that i am a centrist.

I heard from another poster who got the same pm so assumed we all did. Don't be slighted ladies. Nothing new. Same old name calling, but tallen didn't feel the need to bleep herself in the pm. I'm no prude, but I don't allow anyone to talk to me like that. I'm so glad that all the things she wants/needs are not available at my place. I don't pay my manager enough to put up with that kind of abuse.

Haven't been able to log in for awhile, but WOW...

Tallen seems like a troll. Somebody to just start trouble. I've read every single post on this tread and he/she is just looking for trouble, not help.

Fun reading though 🙂

Connie, I don't think she's a troll in the true sense of the term. She asked and was answered on two threads but totally misread comments and suggestions and interpreted them as personal attacks, for what reason I have no idea whatsoever. You've been on this forum and visited STT enough times to know that sometimes one's internet communication is often misinterpreted and mis-read.

Tallen entered the forum with apparently all good intent but right from the onset became defensive for no reason whatsoever and started hurling diatribes to all and sundry. I hope she finds the right spot for both her and her husband and the two couples they're travelling with.
