I've spoken on here plenty about Emerald Beach since I was there just a couple months ago. It's not a very "ritzy" resort, but it is very nice for the average Joe who wants to save a few pennies and still enjoy the beach...which is located directly in front of all the rooms. The Palms restaurant on site is very good as is the little beach bar. The beach is very nice and calm most of the time. You can walk out forever it seems without dropping off into the deep water. There's a good pool and even a watersport rental office on site too.

One thing I liked was the closeness to the airport. I was in the water at the beach within 45 minutes of getting off my plane. 🙂 The noise from the airport isn't too bad, and usually after dark there are no planes in or out at all.

Since I'm not the typical glamorous type tourist who can afford to throw money all over, the Emerald Beach Resort was just fine for me. I'll probably go back there again.

Had some friends stay at Emerald Beach about 4 years ago and again 2 years ago... both were pleased with accomodations, beach, facilities. I second the food and atmosphere at the Palms restaurant and beach bar are great!!
