My wife and i are going to be in STT this Saturday for a week . Doses any body know if the weather is consistent this time of the year. We can't weight for the climate change . Detroit this time of the year gets old real fast.
Can't say it is the same everyday. When the cold fronts come down, we get wind, waves and sometimes rain, tho not much rain this year! Then we go about 3 or so days of calm and quiet before the next cold front! Yes, your weather makes it all the way down here! Just not as cold!!!!!! Sometimes these fronts stall on us, other times they go past us and then hits us coming back up thru! Sometimes they don't make it this far! Ya never know! Regardless, it is much nicer, even when we get the rain which usually doesn't last long!
Enjoy!
I dunno, Sherry, in my nine years her (from the Detroit area, too!), it sure seems like the weather is the same all the time to me. Yeah, we get SOME overcast days, but not often...not like the Detroiters are thinking, anyway! (and, yes, I've been thru a couopla hurricanes, too, but those are far a few between)
Todd: Don't even let the weather come into your mind...being from MI, you'll notice that, even when it rains (which is normally everyday, but lately we've been having a dry spell), you'll find that it is only for about 20 minutes or so, then the sun is back out with rainbows! I remember back when I lived up there, the weather was always a concern...it's just not so here. My Mother came down (from MI) for a week back in October and she kept mentioning weather whenever we'd be making plans...and I kept telling her "Mom! Enough with the weather already! YES! It'll be NICE...it's ALWAYS nice!" She just didn't understand...but, by the end of the week, she was getting it! Haha!
The weather will be fine as usual for you unless my rain dances prove effective because we NEED it desperately. However, I've reworked the rain dances to caveat late night downpours so hope this helps! Cheers!
Marty,
You are right to a point and can't argue, DARN! I guess one of the things I am always lookin' out for are the waves as we try to get out on the boat as often as we can which isn't much! (not so much due to the weather as it is work of course). It is wavier (is this a word?) when the wind blows and calm on the other days. Blu's thread of her last visit was a testimony to that! Her trip to STJ and Virgin Gorda with waves, yes the weather was wonderful with the exception of one rainy, cool day. Yes, I love those overcast days that are soooo far and few in between. Wonderful for yard work for sure! The weather is lovely no matter what! 🙂

Todd, one of my favorite memories of the islands is my husband and friends standing out in the water in Trunk Bay when a sudden downpour came! It rained hard for maybe 5-10 minutes while everyone ran for cover... except for our little group who chose to stay warm in the chest high water splashing all around us with every drop that fell. We all laughed as people started coming back into the water because it was warmer than standing on the beach and as the rain began to let up and the clouds began to part letting the blue sky and sunshine through it was just so beautiful and fresh looking and wonderful. Don't let a threat of rain on the islands worry you... it's just another part of the beauty!
Todd: We got back yesterday after a week at St. Thomas. Every day, the forecast predicted "Partly to mostly cloudy skies, 30% chance of rain". But the only rain we had was last Friday night very late for just a little while. Every day was 84 degrees with slight breeze, and nights were 76 degrees with slight breeze. As for clouds, there might have been a couple that passed briefly over the sun and some point during the days but I really don't remember that. All I know is that we had beautifully sunny days every single day with just enough tradewinds to keep us from being very hot while lying on the beaches!
