My fiancee wants to spend our honeymoon in the Virgin Islands. I've never been there myself, nor am I knowlegable of them. I've been doing some studying on the islands to get familiar, but I'd like some help from those that are already familiar with the islands.
The honeymoon will be 8 days/7nights in May, want to visit several islands, mostly peaceful/relaxing type of leisure activities, hotel/resort must be nice and clean (4 out of 5 star minimum)... We're budget conscious but not pinching pennies.
Thanks in advance,
Lee
My suggestion for a stay on St. Thomas is Pavillions and Pools. Nice and private. Each room has its own pool, it is close to a great beach - Sapphire Beach and close to Red Hook if you want to go out. Or you could stay at Marriott Frenchman's Reef - bigger hotel but very nice and beach is nice - views are great and it is romantic. Have fun.
Lee,
I stayed at a relatively small place called Secret Harbor, I highly recommend it. Not nearly as fancy or plush as many of the fabulously upscale places (Pavillions and Pools sounds like one. Not sure why even honeymooners need the private pool when you have the warm Carib Sea just outside your door.) It does have a pool, and tennis courts, but no golf course as some have. But is does have a fantastic beach -- very private -- with great snorkeling. It also has as excellent restaurant and a cozy outdoor bar. It is close to Red Hook if you need to get out for entertainment, and probably no more than seven miles from downtown.
By the way: Are you with Boeing? I used to live in Everett, Wash., as well as other NW places. Now in Florida, but am moving to the VI next month.
Thanks to the both of you for your advices...
And yes, I do work for Boeing.
What are you going to do in the VI's?
