Hi,
My husband and I are planning our honeymoon. We fly into ST. Thomas on Jan. 8th and are planning to maybe stay at Caneel Bay from the 8-15th and then we don't know what to do the 15th-21st?
We then want to go to the Ritz possibly on St. Thomas for the last week from the 21st-27th. We don't HAVE to stay at that nice of places so if you have any suggestions that would be better please let me know and we also would love to find a cute beach front condo or bungalow to rent if we could find one? Any suggestions on other islands to explore the middle week? Any restaurant or activity suggestions. We have never been to the Carribean so ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Nicole
CONGRATULATIONS You might want also look into the villa/condo option on STJ for more privacy - the price would be comparable with what you are going to pay at Caneel. Be sure to go ahead and reserve a jeep while on STJ so you can explore ALL the beaches. If you both have passports you might want to consider exploring the BVI's - Tortola, Jost Van Dyke, Marina Cay, Cooper, etc. - We will be on STJ for 5 days (and Marina Cay-5 days) in December celebrating our 25th anniversary - you have picked the perfect spot and a place you will undoubtedly want to return to for each and every anniversary!
Before I can give suggestions I need to know what it is you're looking for. Do you prefer a resort style vacation where you dress for meals, have your bed made and your room cleaned everyday and have umbrella drinks served to your chair at the beach or pool? Or are you interested in the serenity and privacy of renting a villa? Do you really want to be unpacking and packing and moving during your 3 weeks in paradise?
When our daughter was married we sent her and our son-in-law down to STJ and rented them a villa and a Jeep. They have been going back every year. I think it's the perfect honeymoon.
Nicole: What about a week on a crewed yacht? Very private. Very nice!!
East Ender, that's a great idea! We've done it twice and LOVED IT. I'd say 1 week at Caneel, one week on a charter and one week at a villa to round things out. Perfect!
You should contact a charter broker like Ellen Stewart at http://www.stewartyachtcharters.com/, but this is a great boat: http://www.yachtphaedrus.com/. Talk to Pamela, too!!
