I am interested in finding out about history of the Islands and the exhibits that
are available. I visited Fort Christian in St. Thomas and was quite impressed.

Has anybody visited any of the plantation on St.Johns? How about the Robert Oppenheimer estate. Is it still intact?

Hello,

There is a brief article on history in the USVI at:

https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/history/

From that page you can visit a history review for St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island.

There are other Danish forts in the USVI, on St. Croix, and plantations as well.

VIsit the attractions section for each island and you will find a photo and description of some of the historical sites. At the top of this page you will see a blue bar with the island names - scroll over the island name and a drop down menu appears where you can choose attractions.

After reading the history section and viewing the attractions then you can post questions about them for more information.

Although I didn't spend enough time on St John, I was impressed by the ruins at Caneel Bay and will see more of them the next time I visit. Unfortunately (kind of) my STJ visit was for a quick hike and beach time since I was staying on STT.
