i have been reading about all the steps at the hilltop villas, to the pool , to the restaurant etc. almost anywhere you go on property its all up and down steps . how true is this ? . and how extreme are they ?

yes there are lots of steps. If you are a beach person you may find this as a problem. Secret Harbor, Sapphire (Crystal Cove or Sapphire Resort) and Bolongo are the best on the east/south side of the island.

It depends on which villas you are in. If in Pirates Pension unit, yes, there are steps to climb to pool, restaurants and pool. If in Hilltop Villas II there is an elevator (only building with one) to pool deck and very few steps to Cabana Bar, Room With A View or lobby. Villas III and Hilltop I are about equal to the steps as Hilltop II to the pool and restaurants.

From pool up to Cabana bar are about 10 steps. From Cabana Bar to Room With A View level are about eight steps. From this level to lobby are about 12 steps.

It isn't bad at all. Been an owner now for about 13 years and love it. The entire complex has been updated, renovated and refurbished. It is really beautiful.

If you need more information, if I don't have the answer, I will find it for you.

The walk to town isn't bad (all down hill) but what goes down must come up 🙂

There is a parking lot in town (next to Fort Christian) but if you're not there by 9 - 9:30 you might not get a parking spot ($4 per day). Best suggestion would be walk down using the back road (if you like walking) and taxi back. Ask at the desk how to get to the back road.

Here is a site for rentals and sales (none listed for your time period):
