My husband and I, along with several of our friends, have been fortunate enough to have experienced the pleasure of bare boating in the Caribbean since 1993. On numerous occasions, we have rented a vehicle, and toured some of the islands by land. During our “land” adventures, we have seen countless breath taking sights! One of my favorite places to stop is a look out on St. Johns. As you gaze down from this look out, you can see Trunk Bay. This picture of Trunk Bay can be found in just about any advertisement of the Caribbean. It is one of my favorite pictures in my collection of photos of our trips. I would like to know if there is a safe hiking trail from Trunk Bay to the top of the hill to this look out that I am referring to. Last year we anchored off of Trunk Bay to spend some time snorkeling. I had the idea of possibly hiking up to this look out, if there is a trail that we could follow. We are scheduled to arrive on February 22 at the St. Thomas airport. We then go to Trawlers-In-Paradise to board the yacht we have rented for our bare boating adventures. If possible, could you please respond to my email before then? And/or send me some information (brochures/pamphlets/etc) pertaining to my request. I have searched different web-sites, but have not been able to spend a lot of time to thoroughly search for information that I am seeking. Below is my name, address, and phone number(s) for you. I don't know of a trail to the look out from Trunk Bay. I do know the look out, there is a picture or two or three from this spot on this web site. LOL.
There is actually a free wallpaper download at
https://www.vinow.com/general_usvi/wallpaper/ of this spot - if you want it to be on your computer every time you turn it on. 🙂
There are many trails on St. John - there is a list of them under National Park, trails, in the St. John guide of this web site. You can view them all there. Also you might want to spot into the Park visitor center in Cruz Bay St. John to ask about hiking to the look out. I don't think hiking up to the look out is an option by trail though.
