First of all let me say that I loved STX so much that we purchased an ocean-view lot and plan to retire there. I check the weather UP there (we live on Kwajalein Atoll at 8.5 degrees north in the pacific directly above New Zealand) every few days and see that the temp is cooler in the higher elevations. Does anyone know what high elevation means in terms of altitude and temperature? Is there a published temp drop as a function of altitude in degrees/foot? We are at approx 500 ft elevation and are trying to figure out what our temp averages might be.

Cal: I dropped out of geography class when it came to figuring adiabatic rates, which is the way one determines the drop in temperature over increase in altitude...
Good luck!!
