I am trying to plan a 5 night stay in St. Thomas in early December during which I plan to ask my longtime girlfriend to marry me. We are in our late 20s. I had been set on Sapphire Antilles after reading some reviews, for our stay, and was also looking at the Secret Harbor, but as of now their beachfront properties appear booked. Am I making a good decosion? I want a decent room where I can open my door and see the beach, walk to it. Are there any other hotels you would recommend?

I am curious to know, how would you ask yours to marry you on St. Thomas? Please, the more detail the better.

Is it worth it to rent a car for our stay? How is taxi transport on the island? We would like to see some nightlife while we are on the island.

Thanks so much for your advice...

Frink,

My husband and I have been married 36 years, we had our honeymoon in St. Thomas.

I think any women would be bowled over with a private dinner on the beach, candlight, bubbly, and a flaming desert. Rest. at Secret Harbor will do this, or a sunset sail with champaign and nibbles. You could almost write your own ticket for years with something this romantic.
