I am going to STT in Nov. for 8 days along with three others that has never been to the islands. I was asked to be the "cruise" director. I have many questions:
1. Can anyone suggest the best excursions to the BVI? Baths? Is there a catamaran?
2. Any suggestions for Tortola,Virgin Gorda, or ST Croix?
3. A trip to STJ is mandatory but where to rent a jeep is the question? Should we book in advance or wait till we arrive?
4. Is the sky ride worth the time?
5. Where is the best shopping with the best prices?
6. Restaurants on STJ and STT that are a "must do"? Bars with music?
7. Beaches that we cannot miss?

I would appreciate any information. Thank you in advance.

New Horixons II is my favorite, but they also run a little upscale with their other boats...check out New Horizons BVI Trip
2. Any suggestions for Tortola,Virgin Gorda, or ST Croix?
I doubt you'l make it to STX in this trip, as that 40 mile ourney eats up a lot of your vacation time, so I would try to plan on sticking to just the close islands....the Baths at Virgin Gorda are incredible, definitely go there...and the trips that go over, they stop at aother islands, too, so I'd give them the nod for taking care of other islands for you
3. A trip to STJ is mandatory but where to rent a jeep is the question? Should we book in advance or wait till we arrive?
Walk down the ferry dock and read the signs...they are everywhere..go left, go right, dowesn't matter, you'll find one. Now, depending on when you go, they may be out of vehoicles for the day, so this IS something that you should try to plan a litle....at least get a reservation....any suggestions, guys?
4. Is the sky ride worth the time?
YES!!!! Try to get there for the sunset on Wednesday or Thursday...live band, dik specials, some stores stay pen later....good time. The Tram
5. Where is the best shopping with the best prices?
With over 400 stores, and 300 of them being jewelry stores, In Charlotte Amalie it's really hard to give that a concrete answer. I know when I have friends or family come down, there are only certain stores that I allow them to buy from due to my relationship with the owners of those stores and I know they will be treated right. If you want my advice, PM me and I'll send you to my choices for what you seek.

6. Restaurants on STJ and STT that are a "must do"? Bars with music?
7. Beaches that we cannot miss?

I would appreciate any information. Thank you in advance.

STJ: Pam's Car Rental 340-693-7580 OR CnC Car Rental 340-695-8164
I would advise the advance reservation, we went in April and had a hard time locating a vehicle, no Jeep Wranglers available those sell out first. We will deffinately make a reservation before we head back down.

STT bars Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook, food is decent too.
STJ bars Quiet Mon'
BVI Jost bars Foxy's for some Firewater Rum and then to Ivan's Stress Free Bar, further down the beach from Ivan's is Gertrude's excellent food.

STJ Beaches Cinnamon Bay

Me and my dear husband have been to STT & STJ twice in the past two years. We will be staying on STX this year - I CANT WAIT!!! As cruise director, schedule time to do nothing. 🙂 It is a vacation after all.

I agree with Marty, try New Horizons...they will take good care of you & it will be a blast.

Between STT, STJ & your day trip to the Baths...you will have plenty to do. Skip Tortola & STX - It's just too far to go.

I'm a planner, but in this case...I would wait until I arrived. There should be plenty of rentals available.

Sky ride: I wasn't impressed. I would much rather go to Coral World or beach hop.

Charlotte Amalia has great prices, again my opinion. Haven-sight is small, CA has more culture. Don't miss the 99 steps LOL

Restaurants on STJ and STT: Ok, this is tricky. I loved Craig & Sally's on STT, although they are pricey. I also like Fungi's & The North Drop. I'm not familiar with STJ restaurants. I wasn't impressed with Off the Hook or Caribbean Saloon. The Toad & the Tart was cool & the owners are awesome. Oh can't leave out Maggie Malone's!! Our favorite for breakfast.

Coki Point is my all time favorite beach (right next to Coral World), ask for WEB & he will take good care of you. Megan's Bay is pretty but the snorkeling wasn't that great. Pick up a beach guide at the airport or hotel - it will give you directions to the best snorkeling. 🙂

HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!!
