The Nigerian email hoax has been circulating for years, in one form or another. Once, I played along just to see how far they'd take it. They wanted to deposit a large sum of money into my bank account and have draft a check for it back to them. Suuuuuure! One of those news shows (Dateline, 20/20, 60 Minutes) did a special on the Nigerian email scams. I forget how it all worked - but they were making money.

That they'd specifically name the Lt Gov is wild - and stupid. It is pretty easy to discover that he is not stuck in Nigeria.

Since this is specifically targeted at the LG, I don't think it's the same as the mass e-mailings that we often see.
