We booked a reservation at the Sapphire Beach Resort for April 2006. I am concerned about some of the negative reviews I have read on this website and other similar websites. I know that Antilles recently took over the whole property so I was wanting to know if anyone has any information about Antilles and whether or not the property will improve or go down hill with their management. For the most part, I take the negative comments with a grain of salt but Antilles promised to send us a confirmation via email which they still have not done and it has been approx. 6 weeks. We have also tried to send them email but they have come back as undeliverable. Obviously, our next avenue is to pick up the phone which we will do but I was hoping that someone could provide some insight as to what is going on with the property.

This will be our first time to stay a week on St. Thomas. Previous trips have been when we were on cruises so needless to say we are very excited about being on a beach for a week and we want to have a wonderful trip with limited hassels.

Thanks for any assistance.

Scooby, thanks for responding. I probably need to relax and get on island time. We are just so excited about our trip. By any chance have you stayed at Sapphire Beach Resort before?

I have had friends stay there many times, I have worked there, and used to be sell timeshare there (Paradise Found Vacation Club). There are no immediate plans for renovation, so things should just move along as they have been with the previous management. No worries, it's a great location, great beach, good snorkeling, wonderful views, etc. You will have a great vacation. http://antillesresorts.com/2sapphirebeach.htm

Hey cbs...we booked thru Antilles last fall & absolutely lOVED it!! We were in a condo type room....feet from the water!! I'm not sure how many different venues own units there....but ours was thru Antilles. Didn't matter...it was GREAT!!
If you are still unsure....it wouldn't take much to convince me to hand over your reservation for me to go check it out for you!!!!

We were gonna go back this fall...but after much reserch, we found it cheaper for us to go to the other side...Puerto Vallarta...with MUCH hesitation because of our love for St. Thomas!! But we are still planning on taking our son there to get married...probably next fall. And we will definetly book at Sapphire Beach!!

Enjoy...& let us all know how right we were when you get back!!

Thanks for the info. Now, I am really excited. I think I will get a countdown clock ready...6 months to go. I have really enjoyed reading the messages on this board and finding out all the great things to do on both STT and STJ. When we get back I will provide the info on our trip...I know it will be a wonderful trip.

Sitter...I have heard great things about Puerto Vallarta so enjoy your trip as well.
