We are trying to figure out where to stay on St. John. We can't spend a fortune on a deluxe villa. We've found a number of places close to Coral Bay, but we're wondering if that is a wise choice on our first trip STJ. We'd like to stay under $2000/wk and would like to sleep 4. Our preference would be to be close to good beaches, but also accessible to Cruz Bay for a change of pace. Your advice please for good location/good value??? Thanks!

We just came back from a weeks vacation in St John. We stayed at a villa in Coral Bay, using www.windspree.com. Our place was called Sun Moon and Starts, slept four with a pool, and a beautiful view of Tortola Island. The price for a week is around $1570. It's about a half hour drive to Cruz Bay, and was nice for a change of pace. It's very quiet in Coral Bay, but the pool at the villa and about a 20 minute drive to beaches should keep everyone entertained. Super accomadations with Windspree, and nice villa and people to work with. Don't expect much for restaurants in Coral Bay or even Cruz Bay, that was a major disappointment. Skinny Legs, bar and grill was the best out of every place.
