Just checked the latest update and not too happy about what might be instorm - that should be in store. I know that they must have to cancel ferries due to weather but do they ever announce in advance limited ferries or cancelled ones? Not in a panic but am concerned. Guess if it's too bad, planes won't fly anyway and it sure doesn't look like it's gonna be as awful as Flossy heading for Hawaii What be, will be but just thinking about Plan B. And hopefully, it'll go poof! just like so many in the past!
If an official hurricane watch is posted, preparations start moving forward. If an official hurricane warning is posted, preparations are stepped up which include postings on local radio, etc. about closings, cancellations, etc. (that includes transportation services) and if a close call is imminent, WAPA (the electrical provider) shuts down the grid, a curfew is imposed, and you hunker down (under generator power if you have that or candles and flashlights if you don't) for a few hours until the storm passes.
Storms form off the coast of Africa one after another during hurricane season but we've experienced nothing major since 1995 and hopefully it'll stay that way. Cheers!
we are headed out Wednesday morning to STT and hope this thing dies out as well. Bought trip insurance just in case of a cancellation, but would rather make the trip as this is the only time we can go this year. Keep your fingers and toes crossed.
Trip insurance is just like any other insurance whether it be house, auto or life. If you or someone else is collecting it, a not-so-good ting has happened. Just watch and wait. Maybe it'll take a big turn to the north and stay far out at sea.
