In the Virgin Islands, one begins every conversation with a greeting - Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Good Night (used in place of Good Evening). To do otherwise indicates you were not raised properly. After the greeting and maybe a comment about the weather or whatever, you are free to "talk business".

Have a nice trip.

Just to add onto Linda's post, remind your guests that if they're asking for any kind of information from a local, it's best to give the basic greeting and then follow it up with, "Can you help me please?"

"Asking" works so much better than "demanding" wherever you are when traveling to a country other than your own.
