Hello all,

I'm planning a wedding/honeymoon in St. John's this upcoming February. We are going to fly into St. Thomas on a Friday, spend Friday and Saturday there and then head to St. John's where we are in the process of renting a house/cottage for a week. Any suggestions on things to do or NOT do?! We are first time travelers to this area but have been several other places. Does anyone have a favorite hang out on St. John's? Thanks for your time. Jill

My favorite hangouts are Skinny Legs in Coral Bay or Woody's in Cruz Bay. I rent villas on St John when I stay and it's much nicer and there are lots of choices. Just be aware there's a ton of construction going on, so don't let it spoil the trip. Nightlife is pretty limited, but ask around and see where there's live music. Expect to be in bed early - well, early compared with say South Beach or Vegas. Do take a private day cruise or rent a dingey and go to some of the beaches by sea. Snorkel. Hike Reef Bay Trail. Bring high DEET OFF. Enjoy the cheap Cruzan Rum - but don't drink and drive. Mostly - enjoy!

Basically all of downtown Cruz Bay is a party. You can walk from one place to the other! Enjoy your weddingmoon! Call it St. John though, as St. John's is in Antigua! A common mistake.

Thanks for the info, sounds great. Being that you rent villas do you know much about a location rented by Coral Bay Vacations, a place called Astral Ridge?!

Astral Ridge is part of Astral Villa and rents as one large or 2 smaller units. It's got a great location and excellent views. I've spoken with the owners and they're very nice folks. Their availabilities and my dates didn't match up, so I stayed elsewhere. The nearest town is Coral Bay and you're about 35-45 minutes from Cruz Bay. A rental SUV is a must that far out. You'd be close to Miss Lucy's, a favorite very good waterfront restaurant of mine, and near Skinny Legs and Shipwreck Landing, fun places to hang out.
