Hi all. We'll be heading to STJ for a week in June, two couples total. The hubbies are considering heading to STT for a round of golf at Mahogany Run so my gal pal and I thought we'd come along with them and do our own thing on STT while they hit the links. Then perhaps we'll all have dinner there before returning to STJ that evening.

First--anyone played Mahogany? Would you recommend it?

Second--to all the folks who know STT (we've only stayed on STJ and aren't overly familiar with STT), if you were going to spend just one day there, what's the MUST-DO thing to do? I'm not thinking beach b/c we'll have plenty of beach time on STJ and this is probably our one non-water activity day. And I know there's shopping galore, but we're not shopping fanatics so we'd like to do something else along with minor perusing.

And third--where's the MUST-GO place for dinner? Nothing fancy...

Thanks for the advice!

Our Villa was located in Mahogany Run. The grounds looked really nice and there were always alot of cars there (I guess people playing).

Keep in mind if you're thinking about eating dinner on St. Thomas, and if you're bringing a car rental you must check the last time the ferry will go back to STJ.

You don't want beach time (Sapphire and Coki are excellent). You don't want shopping (Havensite to me is better the Charlotte Amalie). That leaves sight seeing.

Mountaintop is fun to drive up to and if it's a clear day...it's gorgeous. You can only spend so much time there. There's a few stores there, but again, it sounds like you aren't interested.

Anybody have any ideas?

2 ladies, 1 day on Stt, no beaches, no shopping....

I'd consider:

1. Spa - Ritz or Wyndham....massages, facials, wraps.....if at Ritz, I'd follow with a bottle of champagne by the pool.
2. museum tour....sample a little history.....
3. Kayak eco-tour (if you're up for a little workout in the kayaks)

Other than that.....I don't know what any of us would do on STT or any other island for a day that didn't include shopping or beaches.

I'd probably go with the spa at the Ritz, followed by a champagne lunch by their pool....they'll bring out the champagne in a pedestal ice-bucket and sit it by your lounge chairs. You can order lunch and also have that brought to you, poolside. Keep your skin's condition in mind. If you are one to burn, you might want to avoid massages or facials. A seaweed wrap might be best on tender, sunned skin.....and maybe something simple, like a pedicure.

And, yes, Mahogany Run is considered to be a great course.

Enjoy!
