Hi Waterguy,
We paid $465.00 on United last April from Chicago. If you got a fare for $260.00 then you lucked out. You might want to grab $375.00 now. The only thing is I did see something on the news last night that by Thanksgiving our gas prices may go down to $2.00 a gallon and if that is the case maybe the airline fares will follow. Hope this helps.

I'm holding out for our February trip, as well. We're in Lexington, KY and fares are running $575 to $775 now. I'd jump at a $375 rate! I do think fuel will go down, but I really doubt airline fares will drop much to destination locations during peak times. Hope I'm wrong, but....

We are coming down in June and we paid $419 out of Chicago. I noticed earlier this summer the rates were around $260, but that was for Fall travel. We paid around $550 when we went in April a couple of years ago.

I'm watching airfare out of Chicago too; $423/person nonstop to STT. Is United the only airline that has an early nonstop from Chicago to STT? We want to avoid SJU and get to STJ as early as possible. (Unfortunately this means flying from Kansas City the Chicago the night before, but it's worth it for the nonstop).

AA has a flight that stops in NC and then goes to STT Northwest is starting a non stop from Detroit in Jan. We drive down from Green Bay the night before because it saves US between 350 and 400 dollars a person thats alot of painkillers when you are flying with 8 people

Yep...sorry...I re-read that too Lora!

We are flying United from Chicago in November....& with frequent flyer miles, I got 3 round trip tickets for.....don't hate me know....$199 each!
They were $315 origanally, then I used miles to get the price down. And it's NOT a direct flight.

We are staying in chicago the night before too....at one of those "Park, Sleep & Fly" places. Our flight on the way back comes in late, so we will stay over in Chicago too that night.
