Has anyone tried it? I usually like to experience a new place everytime I go. Was wondering what the reviews were like.

We ate there and it was great! It had a wonderful ambiance and the food was delicious. It was expensive, but worth it. I highly recommend. Most of their food is somewhat spicy, I'm not a big fan of spicy food, but my Havana Pollo was great. They also had good and strong mixed drinks.

We loved it. it was raining so we took the hotel shuttle down to it and you can see the blue light shining up and out of the building. We didn't think it was any more expensive than the other place we ate. I also had the Havanna Pollo. Yum. We will definately go there again. Walk the beach after dinner. It is like a fairy tale!!!

I have to agree that the ambience in the evening can't be beat. DO try to reserve a table by a "window" - which, in dry weather - is an opening looking out on the sea. The billowing white drapes that hang from a huge cathedral ceiling flap lightly in the breeze and the lighting is perfect. We were told that it is quite impressive if you are sitting there when a cruise ship sails in to dock after dark. Missed that...but also have to comment on the great & beautiful (albeit $$) cuisine - not to mention the great & friendly staff. Take a minute to stand at the bar if you must wait for your table. It's very pretty and the bartenders are very attentive. Enjoy! I'm jealous! Must wait till Spring...

I think you can find pictures of the restaurant and a link to their website on www.caribbeanedge.com. Also, as I recall, their website is just simply www.havanabluerestaurant.com. The place is just awesome - trust me. The photos may make it look a bit "wilder" than it really is....it's actually quiet & romantic once you are seated.

Hi,

I guess it's up to me to post an alternative take on this place. When we were there it was anything but quiet. It reminded me of one of the dance clubs in South Beach. The music was very loud and constant....it was impossible to hold a conversation. It struck me as a place where one went to be seen rather than where you went to have a nice dinner.

The place is absolutely gorgeous.....located in the former location of Tavern on the Beach. The best part of the evening was the way the place looked.

As for dinner, we were hesitant about eating here as a group of our friends had eaten here a couple of weeks earlier and had difficulty with argumentative wait staff and with getting the dinners the way they wanted them. Our experience wasn't nearly as bad. We were simply told that "we didn't want to order" one of the entree's we asked for.....couldn't get an explanation as to why. The dinners were good, but IMO very overpriced.

Our evening at Havana Blue was enjoyable, but we won't be rushing back to try it again anytime soon.

Schultz
