Can anyone tell me about this place.? We are vacationing on St John in November but will spend a day on STT shopping ,sightseeing and having dinner. Have already done Blue Moon at Secret Harbor and Agave Terrace twice, as we tend to travel back to the east end before we have dinner .
Thought it would be nice to walk around Frenchman's first and then go there for dinner. Is it on the beach? Does it offer a view? Of the sunset? Or would we be better at Banana Tree Grill?

Havana is overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Beautiful view & great sunsets Food is on pricey side but I have heard it is good.

Everything to meet your criteria but VERY expensive! I'd go for Banana Tree Grille personally. Cheers!

I will add my vote for Banana Tree also. Havana Blue, besides being expensive is very, very noisy. Reminded me of being in a club on South Beach. OK as long as you don't plan on having any conversation with the others at your table. Considering the cost the food was good but not exceptionally good.

For the $$ involved you might head over to the new place over in Yacht Haven., I think it might be called Grande Cru. There you get the added benefit of having the expertise of Brian Katz and his involvement in the restaurant.

Schultz.

It's very nice...but VERY expensive. Hubbie even left a little hungry after spending $200.00.

A prefer Room with a View...

I agree with everybody else. Very beautiful, Very expensive and we left hungry. You also have to be careful because they close for private parties with no notice. While Mafolie is hit or miss, you can't beat the view. Also Old STone Farmhouse is lovely.

A beautiful place for a special, special dinner. Expensive, yes.....gourmet, gorgeous food, however.
How was the Blue Moon? When we were there last, the food was exceptional - to say the least.

Havana Blue is right on Morningstar Beach. Yes, there is a lovely sunset view. I have friends who check the cruise ship schedule and go for an early dinner (6-ish) when there are several ships at Havensight. As they leave port. they are a spectacular sight. You could definitely wander around the Reef first.

Thanks for the great information on Havana Blue. I never even asked what kind of food they serve. I will pass the info on to the other couples, along with the info about Banana Tree Grill . DH and I had a nice dinner at Robert's a few years ago, but I think our group is looking for something special.

I loved my dinner at Havana Blue. I thought the food was worth the cost - and I love, love the atmosphere. It is chic and, yes, maybe a little like Miami in that the feel is chic Cuban. There's a background of trendy spanish music, or jazzy samba, soothing, though.....a bar serving infused drinks....the food is interesting and innovative. Very sophistocated place - but probably attracting a relatively younger crowd because of the cool vibe.

They have a website online with photos, a menu and samples of the music they play. Here's wha tthe ysay about their music - "Dance to the beat of the Cuban drum. Celestial lounge music, Latin beat, and light club describe the VIBES at HAVANA BLUE."

And a link to an article on the place - http://www.caribbeanedge.com/st_thomas/restaurants/havana_blue.html
