Hi all, four of us will be staying late November in Villa CinnamonTarn thru Vacation Vistas .It is located in Catherineberg 850 feet from Cinnamon Beach. I have found very little in the way of reviews on this property and am wondering if anyone has stayed there and what their thoughts were about the property ie the villa itself , the road to get there...etc. The views in the pics look spectacular...would love to hear from someone first hand who has stayed and could tell me more. Thanks Again and this forum has been so helpful in so many ways.!:)

We stayed at C Tarn two times (or maybe it was 3??) though we haven't been up there for about 5 years. This house is great for 2 couples and you're right, the views are FABULOUS!. We love the Catherineburg area and have stayed a various houses up there over the years. Even though C Tarn is an older house it's been lovingly cared for by the owner. The only thing lacking is a pool (but we actually never missed it).
You will need a 4 wheel drive as the driveway is steep (but paved). The road taking you to C Tarn driveway is paved and then not and then paved and then not. It can get rather bumpy so be aware of that but it's a short drive on the bumpy part. I think you're going to love the house. Is this your first visit to STJ?

Thanks so much Diana for the info....I am so looking forward to staying there....my first trip to St John was last year and I have been hooked ever since...we stayed in a Villa in Chocolate Hole and loved it ...am really looking forward to the Catherineberg area for the beautiful North Shore Views. I have a Grand Vitara reserved so I hope that will be ok for this Villa choice! So you stayed 3 times that's great....I too wish it had a pool but I said with views like that ...it would still be well worth it because we would be at the beach during the day and could use the spa in the evening. So it is an older Villa but well maintained ..that's good to know....it didn't look that old in the Pics. Does it have all the ameneties one would be needing in a Villa...it looked spacious inside too ..a plus also! Just curious did you find it ok not having a.c?
Thanks So Much for all the help
Susan

There's always a breeze up on top so we have never needed AC. In fact we usually needed a blanket at night when we've been there usually in April or May. The house is very well appointed and comfortable. I understand that they have added sliding glass doors across the front of the gallery which is a great improvement. On one of our stays the 'breeze' was more like a gale wind as a weather front blew through and we had to close up the livingroom/kitchen area against the wind. I'm sure this was unusal but with the sliders that wouldn't be necessary.
I'm sure you're going to love the Catherineberg area. The views are the best on the island in my opinion. RE: vehicle - if you have 4WD you'll be fine.

My husband & I stayed in Cinnamon Tarn in November for our first trip to STJ. We loved it & were so glad we decided on that villa. During our stay, we traveled all around the island & I can assure you the best view is right from the balcony of Cinnamon Tarn. You will fall in love with the place, we certainly did!
