We've stayed at St. Joh 3 times but never on the South Shore. I'm considering Hawksnest villa but am concerned about no a/c or pool. The villa is a little older and just want to see what somebody else thought.
Also, Mango Bay seems a little hard to get to, and views limited in certain areas of the house. Hard to tell from the pics. Any info is appreciated.

We are part owners and therefore have stayed at Hawksnest Villa many times. It is on the north side of St John and overlooks Hawksnest Bay. Because is is within walking distance of several beaches (depending on your hardiness) it has a jaccuzi-style "soaking pool" that will hold 8 to 10 people easily around the sides or one or two people "floating" on the surface--a great place to have drinks together at the end of the day or watching the sunset!

As far as air-conditioning is concerned, all the rooms, including the screened bedrooms have large "Cassablanca" fans that keep the air moving. The house is totally open to the view, and we like feeling the breezes on the hillside and the quiet listening to nature there and have never needed air conditioning.

I can't believe that you wouldn't love it there and want to go back year after year! Let me know if you have any other questions.
