Is there a Hard Rock Cafe in the islands?

I think there is one IN STT on the waterfront.

In STT. IMHO, terrible food, lousy and darn near rude service (Comment not intended to stir up this pot again. I love the unhurried, laid back service style of the islands which generally is served with smiles and warmth.), high prices. I've been to other Hard Rock Cafes and I can't say that STT HR has a monopoly on food and service quality and pricing that makes me want to skip the HR experience worldwide

The Hard Rock Cafe on the Waterfront closed last Fall I believe. It was to relocate but another has not opened as yet.

Yes, the Hard Rock Cafe in Charolette Amalie is closed. We were just there this past June and wanted to grab a quick lunch at the Hard Rock. We ended up at Cafe Amici. It was expensive, but very good.

I think the fewer "chain" establishments, the better! Five years ago I asked the hotel desk person in Kona, Hawaii to recommend a good local establishment. He started naming places like Applebees, Chili's, O'Charlies, and Olive Garden. I stopped him and said "Hey, this is HAWAII, is there anyplace that's UNIQUE?", and he had to really think about an answer! He finally came up with a microbrewery (the Kona Brewing Company) which had a limited but very good menu, and some awesome "Firerock Ale". I'm looking forward to the unique places on STJ!

It is unfortunate that loads of the travelling public like to eat in branded restaurants. This is why they exist in locales such as ours. Hard Rock is scheduled to reopen in the Havensight Mall as I understand it. I suppose they want to capture the cruise passenges ASAP!

I could not agree more with your opinion about the food at HR. Its super high-priced low grade garbage. I gave up on Hard Rock Cafe years ago.

We were Kona last year and were told the same thing. The only reason I even need or care about Hard Rock is because my best friend collects their shot glasses so I wanted to get one while I was there. Kona was okay, but I can't wait for my trip on Thurs to STT

Is something else slated to open soon in the Hard Rock's former space on the CA waterfront?

Wendy's is slated to open in the former Hard Rock Cafe space in September.

Hey Ronnie---Is the building that is almost complete in Havensight close to the Port Of Sale going to be the new place for Hard Rock Cafe? It is right by the giant basket of flowers.

It looks so, but that is the new Scotiabank. They have to be moved from their current location for the widening of the road. Perhaps it's big enough for both? Will check into it.
