Sherri Said: This was fun!
How about another thread using our own photos! Wouldn't be a prize tho!
What do ya think?

The prize is one day at this beach at your own expense

I think this one is pretty easy

Excellent Rocky Dock, I did not know the Angelina Lauro's fate beyond...

edit: BTW, those pictures were taken sometime in May 1979.

I was there in April of 79 for Carnival and it was still a mess (I think it was like the 16th that year maybe later)

I also flew that night as an aircrewman in the CG out of Borinquen PR. At first the report was it was anchored out in the harbor.
When we got there is was going - the last thing it needed was a helo to fan the fire.

Some where I have shots on the hill looking down on it.

TomB....Sorry but your on the right track

Islander...your so close.

Hint #3: From the spot Islander chose, if the wind is in the right direction you smell the schitzel.

noone,
Thanks so much for sharing those pics! Way cool to see. I have heard this story from way back and never did get to see any pictures so this is neat to see. I move here in 82, so obviously, I missed it!
Rocky dock, good job!!!!!!

Hope someone will still try to guess the last 2 pictures that have not been guessed yet! They are on page 5.

On Island Time.....your clues make it obvious, but my memory makes the name of the place a blank. I can picture it in my mind. From the road: Petra's Schnitzel House, there's a little bar to the west (?) with room for a couple of cars. And below, a marina. I just can't think of the name of the marina or the bar, but my guess is this is a dock down at the marina. Yacht Haven?

Sherri, is that the caves I heard about in Outer Brass? I hope someday to take a ride out there... I've only been on Inner Brass.

noOne got it!!! It is on the furthest point of Outer Brass! You can actually take your boat right in it. I haven't gotten in the water there just yet, but imagine I will some day! Good Job! (tu)

That's not fair! What about us land locked folks who have no access to watercraft?

Patrick,
When there's a will there's a way! How about a kayak? Would have to have a calm day, but it can be done! Or get in with someone down at Hull Bay, I am sure there would be someone happy to give you ride out there! There is another guy and forgive me as I cannot remember his name for the life of me right now, that hangs out with Glen down at Magens. He has a boat that he takes out skiers in. Actually, just remembered his name, Jay is it! Anywho, he would bring his boat back home each day and was nice enough to give me my first ride out there. You'll get your chance I am SURE! 😎

Again, a bit off topic, but... There are quite a few famous people who have lived in the USVI, Kelsey Grammar being one.

This picture was taken around 1982, on a field trip to STJ to see Ram's Head. The person on the left hosted an MTV show in the 90s - can you guess who she is?

If it is any help, we went to Antilles at the time.

I know it was not Martha Quinn or Nina Blackwood

When they left MTV so did I...

We have two winners Gerie & Islander :@) I took this photo while having dinner at Petra's Schnitzel Haus. While we've had many great meals on STT my all time favorite has to be Petra's Pot Roast Dinner, my wife raves about the Schnitzel (I like it too). It's been a couple of years since we've been to Petra's. We're usually on STT the last week of Oct. and first week of Nov. unfortunately she has not been open :-(.

The STJ photo from 1982 looks to be Gabriella Reese when she was growing up in Caret Bay STT - she went on to be a professional volleyball player, marry a famous surfer, have a Nike shoe contract and do some modeling.

You're right, exit zero. I was in the same class as her from 7th to 10th grade.

Edit: oh yeah, she was host for MTV Sports.
