Sherri Said: This was fun!
How about another thread using our own photos! Wouldn't be a prize tho!
What do ya think?

The prize is one day at this beach at your own expense

I think this one is pretty easy

Islander,
Yes, my picture was taken from the far end of Peterborg with view of Outer Brass!
Great pic of Lime Tree! A favorite spot of mine as well, tho haven't been there in a very looooong time!

Margy Z, I am going to guess, (maybe this wouldn't be fair), Caret Bay West, down by the Condos?

TomB, you got me on this one!

In fairness I did take the picture in 2005
And it is on STJ
I like the little honor box on top the pole
and of course we had to put in a $5 because who carries .50 when you are going to a beach.

Although I've never seen it, the only private beach on St. John known to me that asks for an admission fee is Vie's Beach. Could this be the entry to it?

Here's another from me!

This canon was out on Mr. Charles land (Charlies Trucking) in Bovoni at one time and then was moved to my yard, so they had some history with me.
There are two of them at the location in the picture, wish I still owned them.

Good Going Gerie

It is about as far as you can drive from Cruz Bay...

But if you want a quiet day on the beach you will be pretty much alone

Another Quick short on Vie's Beach and Campground - which in fact I did not know it was a campground.

So if you would like a very very quiet beach - Take the drive! And don't forget your $2.50
BTW there are goats that make sure you pay 😀

Vie's Beach

Yes, Caret Bay, looking down from the deck at Villa Mangorosa. I think Pelican View would have a similar view as it is next door. The way the light played on these rocks at different times of day was so beautiful to watch.

Love Vie's Beach and her chicken. Of course, you kind of have to come to terms with enjoying chicken while the chickens are running around at your feeet - lol.

Sherri - those cannons are cool. There's a cannon at the villa we are staying at on STX in April - island Time. I've already threatened Paul...

TomB,
Thanks for sharing! Looks like a nice spot. You are educating us at the same time! (tu)

Margy Z,
Nice picture! Looks like a beautiful spot, but please go easy on Paul! Have you stayed there before?

Anyone on the canon?

Ok Sherri, your cannon... is it at Beacon Point on Skyline Drive?

MargyZ - that was a tough one with the rocky cliff. There are likely some that look very similar on each of the islands. LOL. Good job Sherri.

Sherri - Never stayed at Island TIme before. We picked it because it is a smaller villa, it has an open edge pool with a great view, and it has a tiny little beach. This will be our first time staying so close to the water on STX. BTW, is your cannon at Blackbeard's or Bluebeard's now??

Islander, not that I have seen all of the rocky cliffs in the USVI by a long shot but I have never seen a formation similar to this nor have I seen so much of this color. When you look at the intact portion of these rocks closely with a zoom where they are sheared off you can see the layers. Not that I know beans about geology but I wonder if that's the layers of volcanic matter that happened over time log, long ago. We could see this from the deck at Mangorosa and also from the shower in the upstairs master- great view!

A little easy perhaps but I can always relax when I'm here.

Islander,
You are correct, located on Sky Line Drive, route 40. The second canon which also used to sit in my yard has their sign above it. I have never been in Beacon Point. Have YOU or anyone else? Doesn't seem like a very good view to me.

Chris at work,
Glad you joined in! Will give others a chance first! I have to be honest tho, I don't recall the table and chairs........
Looks VERY inviting! (tu)

Well done Margy with a hard "G" !!
Best place I know to spend an early Sunday with food, friends and all that jazz.

Why swim with the fishes when you can dine with the roosters?

Try this one.

Chris at work,
Now I know why I didn't remember the table and chairs! I thought it was somewhere else! Great guess Margy!

On Island Time,
Any clues?

Sherri, too easy for me so I'll give a hint for others: where else is better to wait for the Water Island ferry? Right next to the Captain!

I have no advantage on this one. Wouldn't be anything on Water Island since this is a shot from a beach facing South with the Moon coming up in the East. Last Monday I watched the Dark Knight at the Honeymoon Beach drive-in, and quite frankly the entire three hour movie looked to me like your photo . . . very dark with unrecognizable features. But, someone has got to know where this is!
