I got a little confused on what was still unknown on the Guess Again Thread so I started Part 2 with an easy one... well maybe

I am sure almost anybody who has been to STT or STJ has seen this. Just a matter if you were paying attention...

I have not been to STX since 1978 so my VI pics are limited to just STT or STJ. (That is hint #1)

Hint 2:

The structure you see is not the original one

There are many stories about this strip of beach

Some will tell you it was a retirement getaway - Some say it was like Hotel California

Labeled as a Communist Sympathizer, Robert Oppenheimer purchased a small beach at the north end of Hawknest Bay from the Gibneys

The Gibney and Oppenheimer feud on St John is as infamous as the Hatfield and McCoys in the upper 48 and involved many lawyers for many years.

Some say, and most of what one will read, says Oppenheimer and second wife purchased the land in 57’ as a get away and retirement place.

Some will say Oppenheimer was in effect under house arrest and surveillance by the FBI, which kept very close tabs on this alleged banned Communist Sympathizer. Oppi died in the mid 60s and eventually the land end up in control of his daughter Toni.

Toni had studied and dreamed to become a UN Translator, but because of her father’s past history she was never able to get a Security Clearance. Sadly she hung herself in this little slice of paradise. The land now belongs the people of St John

Pretty secluded beach – nice snorkeling to walk out – bring a picnic

Does anybody no which story is correct - Willing Resident or Exiled Man?

TomB - don't know for sure regarding the willing or exiled stories but I have heard the vacation/retirement version most often.
