I will be visiting in June and would like to know where the best grocery stores are. I've been researching and have seen good reviews for Cost U Less and the Marina Market in Red Hook.
We are staying at Bolongo. Which is closer?

Thanks!

Cost U Less or Food Mart are about equal distance from Bolongo.

@ Future Islander, do you mean Food Center, instead of Food Mart?

There is also Plaza Extra in Tutu Mall.

Don't shop over weekend as majority of groceries get fresh produce/restock on Monday so midweek is best unless you want wilted produce and you will also find many items not available/sold out.

We stay near Bolongo as well and find Food Center to be the easiest, most convenient and not any more priced than anywhere else. It's roughly a 10 minute, very easy ride to and from the area. Go out of the condo/main gate. Make a right. Drive straight until you have to make a right or left (about 2 miles), make a right and it's up on your left hand side. EXTREMELY easy to get to. Cruzan rum $9.99 and good selection of food.

Thanks for all the info. I'm really looking forward to my trip and want to make the best of it while there. We arrive on Sunday afternoon so I guess we will shop on Monday.

Sounds easy enough to get too. Will be renting a car this trip to I'm all for easy navigation on the island. 🙂

I do provisioning on the island for yachts and villas and shop most big stores each week...
Cost U Less and Plaza are by far less expensive than Food Center and Just as a easy to get to especially if you have a car.

I start my shopping at CUL first, then plaza, then Food center for hard to find or specialty things.
Stores get different items in on different days, CUL produce on the shelves Monday morning.

Organic and health food stores in town if our need that sort thing just ask ,,,,

Pricesmart is cheaper than CYL on many items tho you do have to pay a $10 -$15 annual membership. They charge you somehing like 10% (?) without the membership. Sometimes it's worth it, especially if you live here or travel back and forth frequently.
