Has anyone heard of "Greenville Estate" on St. Thomas and could you tell me if there was ever a rum factory on St. Thomas? Thanks
A quick check of my two reference books didn't reveal a Greenvile Estate. I look forward to Ronnie's response to this as he is Mr History -except about the steel bridge! 😉 My understanding is that the plantation society was never as big on St Thomas as it was on St Croix and St John. The Danes who were on St Thomas were administrators and traders.
Never heard of any Greenville Estate. Thomasville is the only 'ville' I know of.
E: Now about that bridge, you still want to argue. You never quit!
What about a rum factory??
I am tenacious, monsieur.:-)
When the GERS building was being build you could smell fermented cane there, Could have been one there.
Ronnie you anything about this fact?
That was the site of the Pott Rum distillery. "Pott, you drink it, don't smoke it! " Their slogan!
:@) to funny!!
