Hi all! I'm leaving for St John on the 16th; we are staying in a villa in the Great Cruz Bay Hillside. Just wondered if anyone was familiar with this area. Curious how far it is to town, walking distance at all? Or, considering the road conditions I've read on other posts, would you even recommend walking the roads? lol. I'm definitely scared to drive now...but we do have a rental car. Also...I've read on other websites about Duffy's Love Shack... is it really as entertaining as it is made out to be (for twenty something single gals...)? Thanks for your help!

And also... the weather forecast says scattered showers through next Saturday... someone please reassure me in the "scattered" part...lol... means briefly passing, right!?!

Holly, I haven't seen the weather forecast but it almost always says scattered showers, which is normal. You should have plenty of sunshine. But I'm no expert on the subject. Yes Duffy's Love Shack is the crazy place for young and old. There are a lot of fun bars in Cruz Bay. Everyone starts at Woody's for happy hour and then venture around to all of the others. Woody's is about a 15second walk from Duffy's. Have fun and I hope it doesn't rain too much!

We just returned from STJ and scattered showers mean nothing at all. When it rained (night or several times during the day) it was for 10 minutes max and hardly any accumulation. Just enough to cool things down a little.
Don't be afraid of the driving. Yes, it is on the left and yes the roads twist and turn all over the place but you're in no hurry and traffic is easy.
We stayed out by Reef Bay and my wife was not keen to make the drive at night (no street lights) after 'enjoying' the night life in Cruz Bay. What time we did have was spent at Duffy's and we had a great time.

Thanks to both of you. Feeling better about the weather... I've been to St Thomas a few times before, and never remember a day when it rained all day... but I probably didn't look at the weather before hand to worry, either. lol. Looking forward to Duffy's!
