During Danish Days?? Or US? If you are calling them the Virgin Islands and not the Danish West Indies then I will go with USVI...

however you then have appointed governors and elected...

the 4th APPOINTED Governor was
Hastie, William 1946-1949

the 4th ELECTED Governor,
Farrelly, Alexander A., 1987-1995
