It's hot in June, so you'll want to spend lots of time in or near the water.

Here's the link to the events calendar for June. Hopefully some other activities will be added:

In reality, aside from tropical storms or hurricanes, the weather does not vary that much throughout the year and that's what makes USVI so inviting. Temperature spread is about 5-10 degrees max. That feels delightful to Winter travelers trying to escape the cold but 'oppressive' to the same when wanting the cooler weather during their summer. Same temperature but different perception. I always found the high and low season funny given the same relative weather conditions. Just hope they don't catch on. 🙂

You know, Chris, I hear and read a lot about the "average" temperatures here, and I don't care what anybody says, IT IS NOTICEABLY HOTTER IN THE SUMMER THAN IT IS NOW. During the summer, it's in the 90s almost every day - 92, 93, 94, 95. During the winter, it's in the 80s almost every day with heavier tradewinds. In the winter, I wear sleeves. I don't dare do that in the summer.

I am sure your blood has thinned out the same as mine in Houston. When I was in PA for school and visited Houston for Christmas, my brother and I would be on the beach in shorts with the locals (wrapped up in their winter coats) looking at us like we were aliens. Now I would never think of going to the beach in Winter and am dressed in my winter coat gawking at the visitors.

The resident will certainly notice a difference but the Northern traveler will consider the relative hotter temperatures pretty much the same. The only difference is they want the heat in the winter and want to 'escape' it in the summer. I believe it to be more a perception than fact but to each his own. I will save the money during the 'low' season. 🙂

We like going in the summer. The water is warmer, too and I have thin blood as well!

If you go in summer, when does the threat of hurricanes really start?

Official is June 1st but things usually don't get 'interesting' until after Mid August.

I'm with Ms 411. I am a stateside resident. When I travel to STT in June (my TYPICAL time to visit) it feel MUCH hotter than in winter months. And, July is almost uncomfortable and not enjoyable.

Not all "VI HOT" is equal. We statesiders notice a considerable difference.

I don't believe the difference is in the temp, but the HUMIDITY. A dry heat feels much different than a humid, damp heat. Summer in the VI presents a damp heat.
