Me and 3 of my sisters are heading to St Thomas this month. Any tips on what we should do? This vacation is mostly for relaxing purposes, so we want to do a whole lot of chillin on the beach with a drink. by day and dining by night....Also, we are booked at Blue Beards Resort. Any recent reviews?

A married couple reviewed their vacation at Blue Beards (or is it Bluebeards???) a few months back, but I can't remember which forum it was on. You might want to do a search on this forum, but also on tripadvisor.com, because the review may have been there. I do remember that it was favorable. That resort also goes under the name Limetree, because that's what it used to be.

I don't know if you'll be renting a car, but if I were you, I'd go to a different Happy Hour every day. They're a great value, and a good way to meet other people. Lotus in Red Hook has $5 sushi rolls, $2 sliders at Molly Malones, Wikked at Yacht Haven Grande has $2 jerk tacos and 75 cent wings, Mojo's in Havensight has All You Can Eat Wings, The Greenhouse has 2 for one drinks and discounted appetizers, etc.

You'll definitely want to go to St John for a day, and you should do some shopping while you're there. St John Spice is a MUST visit store, as well as Caravan Gallery, Bamboula, Pink Papaya, etc. The shopping is much more interesting on St John than St Thomas. You might also want to do a day sail to the BVI.

Sunset sails are nice, and most resorts offer them. Uh, you might have too many things to do to just "relax!"

Enjoy.

Shaanon,

Pack a cooler and bring a map, it's always fun to do a little road trip and see the sights without a planned itinerary some days.

STT beaches: Smith Bay, Magens, and Sapphire for relaxing on the beach. Coki and Secret Harbor for snorkeling. Hull bay for a fun beach bar.

STJ beaches: Trunk and Waterlemon are my favorites, but all of the beaches on STJ are fabulous. Just take your car on the ferry and stop where ever you want, you really won't go wrong

I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Duffy's! It's in Red Hook, in a parking lot, in a shack, really! They serve all sorts of signature drinks, most notably the Shark Tank.

If you make it downtown Fat Turtle is worth a trip for dinner. Great appetizers and the coasters are postcards that you can send to all of your friends back home.

Make sure that you drink lot's of water if you are planning on drinking a lot or you probably won't make it out of bed the next day. Being dehydrated with a hangover is absolutely no fun.

Have a great trip!

Molly

Plan not to plan! Make sure you save at least one day to go to STJ. I would take your rental car/Jeep then you can explore more. Just remember to keep left. I would make sure someone stayed sober to drive you back home too!

When you go to Magens Bay be sure to stop at Udder Delight for a grown up milk shake! The pizza at Magens is awesome too!

Hooters has a great AUCE shrimp dinner on Saturday night for only $12.99! Carribean Saloon serves their lunch menu until 6pm I think so get there a little early and save allot, plus they have a great chix parm sandwich!

Hang out at Iggy's for an afternoon/evening. You will meet some great people and have great food. Crab Legs on Tues/Sat and luau style buffet I think on Wed.

Bumpas is a cool place for breakfast. It is upstairs in Dowtown CA. They make a killer grilled peanut butter honey & banana sandwich!

Go to Frenchtown and visit all the bars and restaurants one evening - all within walking distance of each other and safe - meet some residents and tourists and chat - well worth an evenings entertainment.
