This upcoming winter I will be in st. john and would like to go to Tortola. I was wondering what the easiest way to get there is. Is there any way to get our rental car over also, any info will be helpful.

The ferry is the only way over. No rental car option, except to rent one once you are there.

A link to the ferry contact information and schedule can be found at the top of this page.

It's easier to get a rental car in Road Town than at West End, but there are fewer ferries to Road Town. Hertz has a location at West End at the Jolly Roger. The Jolly Roger bar is also a great place to wait for a West End ferry.

Take the morning ferry over. Simple as that. I believe that Denzil Clyne has an office on Tortola, near the ferry terminal on the West End. I believe that's who we pre booked with on STJ.
