I am a plein air painter and live event wedding painter and will be vacationing (5th time) in July! If you are getting married or know someone who is and would like to have your ceremony painted, live, send me a message. I am happy to do this, at no charge. Love St. John, love to paint!

bahamamomma, I would love to see you paint. Will you be painting anywhere on STT? I'll be vacationing elsewhere while you're on STJ, so I can't make bowdede's wedding, unfortunately!

i appreciate the post, but it would not cost much to support vinow.com if you want to get yourself established here. they are a small local business trying to make it in this world! *-)

A.Davis-
While I respect your post, i think you may have misunderstood the intent of mine. I am in no way trying to establish myself in the islands. I simply will be on vacation, traveling to a place we love, bringing my paints with me to do what I love, when I am not swimming, hiking, reading or eating...I will be painting. I never planned on charging anything, simply paying it forward to a couple who may be on the island while I'm there.

https://www.vinow.com/info/messageboard.php#rules -

Messages of a commercial nature are not permitted. This includes but is not limited to business owners/representatives using their business name as their author name, posting advertorial type comments, including contact information such as web address, email and telephone number in signatures and in messages when this information was not specifically requested, soliciting business from board participants, conducting customer service on the board (such as making reservations and notifications of actions like intentions to call). Posts that state "tell them I sent you" will be removed.

this is still a way of sharing your business with others in my opinion, and it is likely to lead to paid services later on down the line. will you be using photos of your work here in your marketing materials?

i do not blame you for doing what you are doing, it's a great opportunity to get the word out about your work.

the board moderator allowed the post, but i do feel that although you state altruistic intent, i don't feel that you should be promoting your business on this board.

my opinion, but not my call. we can live in peace even though we disagree.

I have to disagree that this commercial in any way at all. The OP is offering to do something nice for people while they are on vacation.
I hope that they are able to connect with someone and be able to share their love of the island and painting with someone.

Sorry Anita but I disagree with you on this one too as the OP clearly said from the beginning that there was no charge involved and further clarified that. Cheers!

i am a purist and i tend to be rather conservative. i know lots of ways for people to advertise their businesses while not calling it advertising.

she may have good intent, but i don't agree with it.

I am sorry but she never advertised anything. She offered to paint a wedding. She did not name her business, she did not say she was looking to make money, she was being a nice and generous person. It has nothing to do with being conservative, sorry, but you are nit picking.

I truly hope that the OP is able to "pay it forward"

i have been known to nit pick from time to time.

i'd much rather have seen someone, whom she had painted, wedding or not, posting something about her on the board, unsolicited.
