moving to usvi in a few weeks and obviously stoked about the opportunity.

Couple general questions:

1) Buy a car on the island or buy a car in Miami and ship?
2) recomendation for rental agent for house/ condo?
3) long distance runner, obviously a hilly geography, any 6-8 mile runs anyone can recommend?
4) good gym on the east end?

Thanks.

My wife and I are big time runner and we love to run the waterfront route ( there is sidewalks and you can run down to airport for a long run). My wife will run the roads here ; but that is tricky because there is no sidewalks on most roads.

The best gym on STT is Jackson Complex at antilies private school

I would use a island trader which comes out each thursday for apt rentals or craigslist...that is how you get the best deals.

Also, we shipped our car with tropical shipping...we did not want to buy a used car here; but you can do so and there are many for sale; but if you aren't comfortable shipping a car works great!

I second. This is a visitor's forum but the VI Moving Center and its active forum will keep you busy and answer most of your questions. Good luck!

Hi, I might be able to help on 1 and 2. I moved down on the island about 6 months ago, and for unforeseen circumstances, I will be leaving in December. I shipped my Jeep Wrangler down here and I will need to sell it, I'm not sure if it would be something you would be interested in, but if you are going to ship a car from Florida it will cost right at 2,500$. Also, I used Blue Water Realty, and they were very friendly and very helpful. Hope this helps
