I will be visiting STT form 11-16 Aug and not been able to find out much about gay freindly places on the island.I realize it is not cool to be open and flanboyant but still would like to find a confortable place to have a cool drink, dinner, lunch in the company of gay or gay friendly persons. Also intrested in clubs, bas etc. Thanks
You might try contacting Blackbeard's Castle. It used to be a gay friendly place, but for some reason, I think it changed. Call them at 340-776-1234. Eevn if they aren't anymore, they may know where to point you. My wife and I had dinner there a while ago and it was a great enviroment, good food, not too pricey. It might be just what you are looking for. I also heard that Tommy's Piano Bar was a good spot to mingle with other, like-minded folks. I haven't been there, so I can't say for sure.
Anyone else?
Tommy's Piano Bar shut down some time ago.
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but you might check in the latest edition of Frommer's for USVI or St. Thomas. There is always a section in there under "nightlife" that highlights the gay and lesbian scene. I would imagine if you talk to someone at the Green House, they would be able to point you in the right direction.
Hello Pete,
There aren't really any strictly gay clubs/restaurants but some places seem to be favored among gay residents. Try Stereos in Frenchtown, Friday & Saturday nights.
I am pretty sure Tommy's reopened under a new name; Wax. I believe it is still favored by gay residents so you can try there also.
Blackbeard's Castle doesn't serve dinner or host the gay parties anymore.

Islander,
I thought that Wax was one of Curtis Faith's new ventures- i.e., in the same location as Tommy's but otherwise not affiliated?
I heard that there was (or was supposed to be?) a gay night at the Old Mill. Not sure if that's true or if it happened.
Best,
LR
