*Are there any gay and lesbian bars in USVI? If so, how would I find out about then?
Is the USVI gay freindly?
Also, I am looking for an event calendar for June, July and August. Any ideas where the best place to get a calendar.
Thanks,
Tori
On St Croix, you'll find the Cormorant Beach Club
http://www.cormorantbeachclub.com/
which is probably the largest gay resort in the Islands. The bar/pool/restaurant are excellent. The beach is beautiful. Very friendly, excellent service and nice people. The rooms are, ahem, a bit theadbare. If you're looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not it. If you're looking for fantastic views, loads of nice people, a hopping bar scene and a good restaurant, then you've found it.
Also in St Croix, Sand Castle on the Beach

Smaller than the Cormorant, but very nice. Haven't seen the rooms, but the outdoor cafe is excellent, the beach is superb, and the pool is active. Nice people, Fredricksted location.
Not a gay hotel, but a great hotel owned by two great gay guys, the Pink Fancy.
David and Motassem will take great care of you. Highly recommended.
Hope this helps!
Hello Tori,
It certainly is not unfriendly. There is an event calendar on this site, however we have not received very many events scheduled in June- July and August is a slow month so don't expect to much being added in August. Keep checking though because St. John Carnival is in June-July and those events should be added shortly (or as soon as we get them).

I traveled to St. Croix at the end of August/early September and stayed for a week.
I highly recommend Sand Castle on the Beach. Simone and Cheryl are excellent hosts, and the place is fabulous. Even cheapie me found a kitchenette, a/c, bath, tv/vcr and basic cable for not much money. I could hear the waves from my bed if I concentrated.
The more deluxe rooms have a separate kitchen and bedroom, ocean views and terraces.
There was a mixed gay/lesbian/ straight crowd there -a mixed group of friends came down for a commitment ceremony, a lesbian couple and their baby and one of the couple's ex's, a friendly straight elderly couple who'd been going there for 30 years.
The clothing-optional pool was under maintenance, but the regular pool was just fine. I'm sure you could skinnydip in the ocean too.
The Beach Side cafe has great food, even if dinner tended to be pricey. (The cafe has a prime view of the sunset.)
I found it friendly and comfortable, even though I was travelling by myself.
Special mention of Don Coley, the AMAZING massage therapist there. Go if you have the chance!
