Can anyone tell me where you can go to gamble in or neat St Thomas?
St thomas has no legal casinos. There is one small casino (Divi Carina) on St Croix. St Croix is about 40 miles from St Thomas by airplane or ferry.
While there are no casinos on STT there is gambling; I've seen the electronic blackjack/poker /slot machines around. I believe there are some in Red Hook, upstairs in the AYH complex.
Could go to Cap's in Cruz Bay on STJ. Cheap beer and video poker. Nothing glamorous about it, but it would probably be interesting. Cap's is interesting.
Gambling on the island sucks... all the machines I saw pay .50 on the dollar. Weak.
Thank you all for your information!! It was greatly appreciated.
Yep...Stt has video parlors.....some quite elaborate (looking like casinos). But, Video parlors have the worst odds! for gamblings, skip the USVI.
I see on the Wyndham site, that they have a small casino.
Look, there are no legitimate casinos on St Thomas. They may CALL them casinos, but they are VIDEO LOTTERY TERMINAL outlets. IMHO, they are a sleazy tax on the poor at math as the odds are hugely in favor of the house (as with all gambling) and they are highly addictive. Many people you see tethered to them do not have the disposable income for entertainment. The legislators who snuck the bill in to allow them should be draw and quartered for what they are doing to their people.
Okay, if I ever get an opinion on these I will let you know. 😉
Wyndham has video machines. They have a lot of them and they do look like a casino - but they are video.
I'm really not sure how much video machines differ from traditional slots. They're both controlled by a computer.
I guess gambling has become a societal problem since some people have addiction issues. Hence, all of the fury over it.
