My husband, myself and another couple spent a completely enjoyable week at this resort. We had units 5D and 5C which are ocean view upper units with a beautiful view. The units provided everything that we needed even a cooler to take to the beach. The beds/pillows were very comfortable and wonderful bath towels. The units were cleaned every day. Beach towels and beach chairs were easily accessible. This resort is a very short walk to the Cruz Bay ferry, stores and restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, try the Banana Deck if you are in that area. The beach at the resort is rocky, but very nice for snorkeling. We can't wait to return.

Thanks for the review of your stay at Gallows Point. How did you like St. John... was it your first visit, favorite beaches, did you go hiking...?

Also you had asked about going to St. Croix during your stay, did you end up going over for the day?

Loved St john. We had visited once before, but only for a day as we were staying on St Thomas at the time. My favorite beach was at Cinnamon Bay. The water was so clear and the scenery was breathtaking. I didn't snorkel, but the others thought the snorkeling was best at Trunk Bay until they got to Cinnamon and changed their minds. We rented a car for two days and toured all around the island, up, down, around all those hills and turns. We ran into a bunch of wild donkeys that were so cute. I still smile when I think about them.
After we got home my husband said that it was his best vacation ever. It certainly was one of mine.

We did fly to St Croix for a day. It is so different from St John and St Thomas. It was beautiful in its own way. Flying in, you can appreciate the vast green spaces. Just beautiful green everywhere. We had breakfast at Rumrunners, which is on the boardwalk, where you can watch crabs running in and out of the 'rock barrier' between the boardwalk and the outdoor restaurant.
I found the people at St Croix to be so appreciative of our visit. I got the feeling that tourism may be down more so there more so than some of the other islands. A lot of the stores were out of business. We went to the casino for a couple of hours and made our donation.

Thank you bc0911 for the followup. The clarity of the water at Cinnamon Bay and Trunk Bay (and other beaches in the area too) is amazing. On a recent beach day over on St. John some of us sat on shore by the trees, while others from the group were in the water. I said look a sting ray is swimming by and then about 30 seconds later the folks in the water spotted it too. I was on the shore by the trees and saw it before those in the water noticed it passing right by them. Definately VERY clear water, beautiful.

Glad you got to visit St. Croix, St. Thomas & St. John... next time you will have to do a day trip to Water Island too! Best vacation ever is great! Hope you got lots of photos to remind you of the trip.
