Will appreciate any reviews or other information regarding Gallows Point. Those internet review sites are all over the map. Thanks!

Dookster, I'm not sure which internet sites you are referring to, but all of the reviews on TripAdvisor.com and Fodors.com are fantastic for Gallows Point!

Our little family of 3 (me, husband & 17 year old son) opted to stay there (this Thursday)!!! It seems to be the best of all worlds for us... Magnificent ocean views, large space (not just a room), full kitchen (which we won't use- I'm on vacation!) 1 1/2 baths, beach chairs, cooler, dvd players,- kind of like a villa but WITH DAILY MAID SERVICE (remember, I'm on vacation!)! Close 3-5 minute walk to Cruz Bay!

Gallows Point was a great vacation choice. Get a location not facing the harbour, the local fish fry across the water is loud!
The music travels across the water, and we were very glad it ended at midnight.

We are staying in a harbour loft this June. Is it so loud you can't sleep? Also, what is the view like? Can you only see the harbour, or can you see out to sea at all? We are in 12C.

One last question...Is the store at Gallows pretty well stocked with basics (breakfast stuff, chips and dips, snacks, liquor, lunchmeat, cheese, etc.)?

Thanks for any details you think are important!

Anyone stayed in unit 7, upper ocean view? That is where we are located for June.

Hey There,

When I stayed at Gallows Point for the weekend, we had a wonderful, wonderful time. We enjoyed the pool area and the private beach as well. It was not crowded at all. The little grocery store that they have on the grounds is pretty well stocked, and there is a full restaurant. At the time we were there we did not get use of the restaurant, due to rennovations.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deb - we just got back from staying in 12C and we loved it. It was louder than we expected, but the loudest thing for us were the birds. There was a small amount of construction noise and the ferries are loud, but the birds woke us up more than anything. We did keep the windows and doors closed, which helped alot with teh noise. Overall, we loved Gallows and 12C though.

The little store on site has most of what you need. We did make a trip to Dolphin Market for a few other things.

Thanks for the info Frex.

Did you run the ac at all. I would think that would help with the noise a little.

Also, how is the tv, dvd, stereo, cd? And are there any games or left over old movies that you usually find in villa rentals? When traveling with a teen, one needs these things no matter where you are.

Oh, one last thing: How was the view???

Thanks alot

We are staying at Gallows Point from 5/28 to 6/4. I think we are in 2C. Had anyone stayed there? We are really looking forward to it.
Will we need to rent a car or can we walk or take a cab to all of the beaches? What is the best rental company?
Any other suggestions or hints?

Deb - there were 2 TVs, one in the bedroom loft and one in the living room. Both were 20 inches and both had a VCR. There were about 5 tapes there - Perfect Storm and Ice Age are all I can remember. There are lots of books there, but I don't remember any games. There are about 30 channels on the TV (actually, there were 20 when we got there and then they all changed and there were more - guess Gallows was upgrading the TV reception).

We did run the AC after some debate - it was very humid and the temp was pushing 87-88 most days. That certainly cut down on noise. It would have been tough with the doors open.

The view is excellent of the bay and town, and there are palm trees in front of the balcony for a little privacy and some shade.
