I'm trying to decide if we should do a full day or a half day sail around St. John. This trip was a quick decision and 2 of us don't have passports. I'm afraid if I do a half day sail I'll wish I would have stayed on the boat longer. For those of you that have been on a day sail, do you have a preference as to the amount of time you are on the boat; 3 vs. 6 hours?

I have also seen posts about the type of environment on each boat...can someone give advice as to who the "party boats" are and who the more "laid back" boats are? I prefer the wind and sea whereas my sister prefers rum and music. I would hate to offend someone with 80's musical flashbacks.

At the moment we are trying to decide between Best Day Charters and Wayward Sailor. Other suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Can't speak for Best Day but we loved Wayward Sailor and Phil Chalker. Not a party boat but he makes it a point to get you involved. Definitely suggest the full day if you want to get any worthwhile snorkeling in. If you are only interested in sailing around, then a half day might do you fine.
