Last time we visited St. J. I had some awesome drinks that the bartender made for me and no clue what they were as I knew nothing about island drinks. My question is, what is the real name of a very fruity tasting drink and what is the 1-5 question they ask you that you want in your drink? That's all I can remember but I like fruity tasting drinks where there is alcohol but not the over bearing alcohol taste.
Just make sure it has RUM in it, the rest will come together.
Lime and Coconut is my favorite. The beach bar makes the best. Tooo much lime in Woody's.
Many bartenders have a signature concoction. Always fun to ask and try. Some drinks to try include Painkillers and Bushwhackers, along with any kind of colada or daiquiri, rum punches. You can always sing the JB song, "Boat drinks!" 😛
The devil rum is the liquor of choice here.

I remember some comments here about drinks, possibly painkillers, being offered in different potency levels, with a #1 being the most benign and a #5 causing you to fall flat on your face drunk with the first sip or something. Could that be what you are recalling?
Yes Gerie that is actually what I was talking about just wasnt sure if I was remembering that 5 shot rule was. Is that with EVERY drink you order or just a select few. I dont drink Rum but a huge whiskey sour fan. What would be close to that but with a island touch?
Gerie! Where the heck ya been gal??!!
mcneil: Do you only like whiskey? Most tropical drinks are made with rum, but you can frequently substitute vodka. Otherwise, just tell your bartender you want a whiskey based fruity drink (:S) and see what happens.
A whiskey sour is a fruity drink if you have the bartender add extra slices of orange and cherrys. You could also try a "Jack and Cherry Coke" and call that fruity. :S
A drink a friend turned me on to was a Hennesy Colada. I never would have thought of doing that, but it's really tasty!
not necessarily fruity but tasty....pineapple juice with mango rum and coconut rum (cruzan confusion)
Check out this list of fruity tropical drinks at Morgans Mango in Cruz Bay
Another favorite fruity drink is served at Udder Delight on the road to Magen's Bay. For me it's a chocolate chocolate shake with a banana in it. Add a shot of Kahlua, Baileys, Amaretto, etc., and you've got a fine fruity drink.
Hey, EE! I've been here. I keep reading all the fine posts, planning for my next visit in August.
