Where is the best place on St. Thomas to purchase fresh seafood?
KK,
I had been asking about this a few weeks ago and learned that the French Fishermen have a early morning fish market where they sell their morning's catch - Where? Where else - Frenchtown. The big day for it seems to be Saturday, but others on here have reported going on weekdays and finding the fish market alive and selling a morning's catch.
I get the impression that the Frenchman's Fish Market is for fish, but not for things like lobster. I could be wrong and hope there is a place to buy freshly caught lobster.
In the past, I have bought fresh lobster in the early AM on Magens Bay - on the very far right side if you are facing the water. There is also a fresh fish truck at the entrace to the Coki Point beach road and another one somewhere else that I can't recall right now.
Some posters have highly recommended Marina Market for fresh fish.
Enjoy.
Great! Thank you!
There is a truck that sells fish and lobster on the curve of the road at Ft. Myliner (sp) shopping center. Fish can also be found outside of the Lionel Roberts Stadium.
KK: The fish you will find at all of these roadside stands and at Frenchtown will be whole fish- heads and bones and fins and all. If you want ready-to-eat fish, go to Marina Market! 🙂
r norman,
Where is the Ft. Myliner shopping center?
Thank you.
It is where KFC is located in the Tutu area, it also houses a Banco Popular bank. The truck(s) are located (as you are heading west towards town) just past KFC on the curve as you must turn right. There is also fruit sold at that location.
