Last year we were in St. Martin and went to a marina where there was an open fresh fish market. Anything like that in St. Thomas?
There's no fish market there but if you head down to Sapphire Marina early afternoon the fishing charters will be offloading and selling their catch before heading off to the local restaurants. Just ask anyone down there for help and they'll let you know who comes in when. Local fishermen who go out overnight sell their catch of the day from the back of their truck at the corner of the Smith Bay Road (Rte 38) turn-off to Coki Beach every morning and are there until noon or afterwards depending on how much fish they have. They bring in really nice snapper, grouper, ol' wife and assorted pot fish. The restaurant, "Fish Tails" in Red Hook also now has a fresh seafood retail counter featuring local catch.
Thank you so much!
