In all my years of coming to STT, I have never been down to Frenchtown. This year we are going to go out to dinner there. Could you suggest some restuarants to go to on a Monday night.

what kind of food do you like? Do you want an upscale wine and steak/seafood place, try craig and sally's. do you want a local pub where you can where what you like, try betsy's.

There are a number of great restaurants in Frenchtown. Bella Blu, Hook, Line and Sinker, Epernay, the Pie Whole, Craig and Sally's, and Oceana.

I like Hook, Line and Sinker but parking can be tight.

We just got back from Pie Whole....awesome pizza and pasta, good wine and beer.
We have also been to Hook, Line and Sinker. Their pork loin dinner had the BEST sauce ever...great meal.
The parking around French town is terrible. If there is a little league ball game, it's the pits but the food is worth it.
I heard Craig and Sally's has great food but very expensive and small portions?

Anyone been to Oceana? We like to eat w/ a view. Are you able to walk to everything down there once you find a parking spot?

We had lunch at Hook Line and Sinker last month and loved it. We sat next to the window and watched the seaplane take off.

For Oceana, actually, you drive past the main part of Frenchtown, past Craig and Sally's to Villa Olga. There is a big parking lot there. It is not in walking distance of the other spots, but it is a beautiful setting.

You can always find parking. Yes, it may be tight, but you can find it. Craig and Sally's is closed on Monday nights. My vote would be for Bella Blu. Oceana is very nice as well.

We were in STT for the first time last year (will be back this summer) and I don't know where Frenchtown is. Looking at a map it looks to me to be on that main road that leads to the airport but I didn't see any other "town" between CA and the airport so there must be a turn, where would that be? Are the any shops in Frenchtown? Thank you.

Longislandjean,

Driving from the airport to downtown on Veterans Drive, before you get to downtown you pass a large cemetery on the left side, just around there on the right side is Frenchtown. You do have to turn off that main road to get into the Frenchtown area. Many of the roads start with Rue and Rue de St. Barthelemy just next to the US Post Office is one you can take to get into Frenchtown. Driving in on that road you will see the ball field and some of the restaurants right around the corner.

PS: If heading to lunch in Frenchtown check to see if the small Frenchtown museum is open. It's an opportunity to learn a little about the history of Frenchtown. You can visit their website at http://www.frenchheritagemuseum.com/index.html.
