HELP!!! We wanted to get married at the point at Sapphire but decided against it after hearing all the disasterous tales. We are supposed to get married at Frenchmen's on June 22nd and they are telling me they are booked solid. My guests have rooms, my family does not. I know we shoud have booked sooner but $ prevented that and the Marriott said 3 months in advance was fine. Looking for any and all solutions to this potential wedding disaster!

I would suggest you see if there are any villas available to rent. Since it's for your family, they probably wouldn't mind sharing a villa or two. Otherwise, the only thing left to do is call the hotel daily to see if they have any cancellations.

Rhonda, The good news is Frenchman's Cove recently opened and timeshare owners are renting out their units. They share the grounds with the Marriott. Search under "Frenchman's Cove rentals". There was one web site that had at least a dozen weeks for rent. I will try and find it for you.

Try www.vacationtimesharerentals.com. Out of the 15 or so listed, only one says "available almost anytime". Keep checking back with the Marriott, as they're bound t have cancellations.

Have you considered Morningstar? It's more expensive, but very nice. Are they also booked up?

I like Crystal's idea, there are villas in that area of the Reef and often villa rentals and hotel rentals are combined!
Villas in that area with McLaughlin Anderson are: Ventana, Overlook, and Captains Walk! There is also L'Esperance, but that is a very large house!
It will all work out for you, if you don't want to go with a villa and Morningstar, Frenchman's Reef, and Frenchman's Cove don't work, there is also Blue Beards 2nd location at LimeTree Beach which could be a possibility!
Congrats on your wedding!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to try them all. Our problem is several of our guests and bridal party do have rooms at the Marriott. I talked to them this morning and they really were of no help. The entire reason we booked the wedding there was they typically do such a nice job of taking care of everything. If I can't get this resolved we may end up at Sapphire after all. Thanks again.

Lots of luck to you working everything out. Weddings are stressful enough on their own, so worrying about lodging has to make everything worse! From experience, I can almost promise you that everything will work out fine. It may not seem like things are perfect as your special day approaches, but once you're standing there saying your vows you will no longer care about anyone or anything other than you and your spouse. If at all possible, don't let the lodging dictate where you get married. Years from now you will hardly remember where everyone slept; what will be most embedded in your memory is where you said "i do". Get married exactly where you want to, and everything else will work itself out. That's what car rentals and taxis are for!!! Again, good luck and enjoy this time!!!

Our son was married at the Frenchmen/Marriot in 2005. It was great! Find a wonderful villa for you and your family and another hotel for your honeymoon! We all rented Villa Amour for a week and it was fabulous. It is on the north side of the island , but I would rent near the marriot. Do a search. Villas are very affordable for a large group.
