hello, and good day to you,
just wondering if anyone knows anything new on the reopening of the pier to cruise ships. I haven't heard anything in a long time.
thanks.
The last I heard the new governor (as opposed to the previous governor, Charles Turnbull) has had contact with Carnival about returning to St Croix, but there hasn't been an update in a few months.
Please write the cruise lines and BEG them to return to St Croix. If enough people request it, maybe they'll put the port back on their itineraries.
Don't know about the cruise ships, but the F'sted Pier made Sport Divers magazine's list of 10 best night dives. I've never dove there at night, but it's a fabulous place to dive anytime. The only place on STX where you are sure to see seahorses
I think night is when you can see the seahorses there at certain times of the year.
No "reopening" for cruise ships. Occasionally one will come to fill up (maybe 2 or 3xs a year). They come in the late evening to fill up and leave either at night or very early morning. No cruise line has decided to come to stx on a regular basis.
The pier is not closed to cruise ships. It's just not a popular destination, that's all.
